DO in Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology
Dissolved oxygen (DO) can be a critical component or contaminant within different pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications such as cell growth and fermentation. As a component, DO can be a critical requirement in bioreactors, and when it acts as a contaminant, DO can cause a product to spoil or decrease its shelf life. AlpHa has DO sensor solutions uniquely tailored to each application, including lab electrodes, non-invasive fiberoptic sensors, plastic and needle fiber probes, and single use sensors.
AlpHa's DO portfolio includes optical, polarographic, and galvanic sensing technologies, and the flexibility of supplying the entire DO sensing solution or simply a customized sensor or fiberoptic electrode, membrane cap, or optical sensing patch. Critical design features enable DO sensors to be sterilized by autoclave, gamma radiation, CIP (Cleaning-in-Place), and SIP (Sterilization-in-Place) processes. DO solutions feature detection limits down to parts per billion (ppb) and measurement range options of 0 – 200% or 0 – 500% saturation. Output options include analog (4 – 20 mA or 0 – 5 V) or digital (RS-485 MODBUS RTU) formats with the ability to seamlessly integrate with third party equipment.
